![]() On-rails shooting is one niche where you don't control the movement and instead are just tasked with targeting. As you can see in the related lists here there are many ways these games offer competition, collaboration and a challenge to players. But also, not all shooting games are the same. Not all video games are about shooting, is something we often say to parents. Or games that use targets as part of a skill challenge like Osu!, Pianista or Elite Beat Agents. ![]() Games like Child of Eden, Rez Infinite or New Pokemon Snap. ![]() This can also be games with shooting style targeting that aren't specifically about shooting. Games like Point Blank, Until Dawn Rush of Blood, House of the Dead, Dead Containment and Dead Space Extraction. Sometimes a stand-alone game, and sometimes a special edition of an existing franchise. These can be classic shooting games, tailored for an on-rails experience. You are left with the task of targeting and shooting the enemies as they come into view. On-Rails Shooters and Light-Gun games take over the movement and navigation side of things for you. Shooting games usually require you to navigate through the world as well as dealing with targeting and shooting enemies. However, there are some games that focus on just one aspect of play. Video games are often enjoyable because they task you with juggling multiple responsibilities at the same time (not unlike other parts of life). This level of systems work extends beyond quick reflexes to social understanding, layered decision making, long term strategic thinking and rigorous practice. Players need to consider their environment, other opponents, team-mates, mission objectives, which weapon to use and how much health they have got. While the main aim of most of these games is to shoot enemies in the head to kill them, there are many other things also going on. They usually offer players a range of weapons, each of which behaves differently and require practice to use efficiently. Often called shooter games, or shooters, they test the player's spatial awareness, reflexes, and speed against computer characters and human other players in online games. Like the instinct of children to pick up sticks for imaginary gun-play, this offers players a chance to step into dangerous situations that raise the adrenaline and require high levels of skill and precision. Video games have had a long history of including shooting play. ![]() In this entry we are looking at Shooting games. This is designed for people new to gaming, and aims to identify games with the least barriers. In this series, we are learning how different aspects of video games work by playing games that offer an easy introduction to this one concept. ![]()

"This Hotel Room Cost $18,000 Per Night!" lol. Their Youtube channel has lots of clickbait videos. The difference being, if you hired someone you would get "unique" artwork. For example if they sold a pack of artwork they would say, "if you hired someone to create these for you, they would cost $3000, but we are selling it only $1500, a 50% discount". They overvalue any courses or supplementary assets they sell. The book is sold only on their website where you can read no reviews or feedback. The rocker-style safety can be disengaged silently. The Venture II’s polymer magazine is nothing fancy, but it’s easy to load and works well, though I did have trouble removing it from my test rifle. The T/C’s action cycles smoothly thanks to the black nitride finish on the full-diameter bolt, and there were no issues whatsoever with feeding, extraction and ejection. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle with a black screw-off thread protector makes mounting a suppressor or other muzzle device fast and painless. Needless to say, a rifle weighing that much chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor isn’t going to generate a lot of recoil, but any pushback was absorbed by the generous recoil pad. I topped the Venture II with a Trijicon AccuPower 3X-9x-40mm scope, and that brought the gun’s total weight to 8 pounds, 14 ounces. That’s pretty impressive considering that Venture II rifles carry an MSRP of just $525. Thompson/Center promises sub-MOA accuracy from these guns and backs them with a lifetime warranty. Without a scope the rifle weighed in at 7.3 pounds with its 22-inch barrel. I tested the Venture II in 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s a vast improvement over the previous model and it positions the Venture II to stake its claim as one of the best budget hunting rifles on the market. I found that the trigger on the test rifle had virtually zero take-up and broke cleanly right at 3 pounds. The blade blocks the sear from disengaging should the rifle be dropped or jarred, but it remains light and crisp. T/C elected to use a bladed trigger design similar in concept to Savage’s AccuTrigger and Mossberg’s LBA. The big news, of course, is the new adjustable trigger that comes set between 3 and 5 pounds. A slightly tacky exterior surface makes the Traction Panels easy to grasp with wet hands. The barreled action is mated to a black injection-molded stock with gray Hogue traction panels in the forearm and pistol grip. The new Venture II also utilizes a drop-out single-stack polymer magazine just like the outgoing gun, and Weaver-style bases are included. The action is pillar bedded and the barrel is free-floated, the recoil lug is sandwiched between the 5R rifled barrel and the tubular action, and all the exterior metal is Weather Shield coated. Both guns feature the same cylindrical action design and the same two-position rocker-type safety. The Venture II, which broke cover at SHOT Show 2020, is similar in most other ways to the gun it replaces. Last year, T/C set out to polish the last rough edge off their flagship bolt gun by offering the Venture II with a much-improved trigger. Good as the original Venture was, a heavy factory trigger limited accuracy potential. ![]() ![]() To make sure that you have installed the SSL certificate correctly, we have have compiled a cheatsheet with OpenSSL commands to verify that multiple protocols use the correct certificate.
